Heyyyy There is a baby around. OK. It is not officially around yet, but OH well. 9 months is nothing. Before you know it is over.

Lots of kisses for the baby :-)) and congratulation to you……

Yaay! Good for you, mamacita! Don't worry, the puking will pass around the 4th month. Just stay hydrated with big glasses of ice water and ginger tea (helps settle your stomach). Don't worry about a thing, your body is building a baby, and knows exactly what it needs.

hehe, congrats! now am i a saint for telling you you're pregnant before you were even pregnant or what?

Oh, my goodness! I found that nibbling things throughout the day helped the feeling green sensation..almonds and pumpkin seeds in particular. And ginger--I used to eat bits of crystalized ginger, but if sweets don't taste good to you you maybe could sip plain ginger tea.
When is baby due? This is exciting, and delightful (and usually the feeling sick ends after the third month. I'm sure everyone is telling you this.)

Thanks Chakameh and I really hope you’re right about nine months being nothing ;-)

About that ginger tea Atmikha, do you mean the tea bags or is there a way of making them fresh? That sounds very good. I like ginger.

Course you are Negar. You knew months before all of us :-)

Thanks for the tips Jarvenpa. I might try pickled ginger instead. The baby is due in September.

Thanks Marieh. Good to have you back. Hope you had fun in Brazil.

Just take the powdered ginger root from tin on your spice rack, stir into a cup of boiling water and sip. You can add honey.
-- Or not.
Another home "remedy" is red raspberry leaf tea from the health food store. While you are there, pick up some iron you can hold down. In the US there is a brand called Rainbow Lite Prenatal vitamins, which most people have an easier time with than the prescribed ones.
The best thing to do, really, is to get up and do something to distract yourself, even though you probably just feel like sleeping 20 hours a day.
The first trimester is the worst, but try to enjoy what you can, wearing your own clothes, for example.
All my love to your little grain-of-rice-sized baby.

Oh, September is a wonderful month for babies (the month of my own birth). (am I self obsessed?? No). I'm seeing so many newly pregnant women in my own area these days--lots of August and September babies coming.
Yes, powdered ginger from the spice tin stirred into water will work; I used to sip it throughout the day during my pregnancies.
And yes, raspberry leaf tea is supposedly good for you (I thought it tasted like..well, it tasted kind of blah. But you could sweeten or add lemon).

Thanks Homeyra :-)

Thanks a lot Atmikha. I’ll try that ginger tea. Isn’t that raspberry leaf tea good for the end of pregnancy though? I’ve heard from a couple of people that it induces labour and you shouldn’t take it at the beginning of the pregnancy. It might just be an old wives’ tale though.
I really wanted to have a go at not taking supplements but eat lots of good things instead. I don’t know if that’s gonna work or not. Probably not actually, everyone takes supplements.

Thanks AA :-)

I hope so too Spring Breeze ;-)

For me Amir, the joyful life has already started. I’ve been sitting here, not lifting a finger all morning and Kamyar has vacuumed, made my breakfast and is now cleaning the bathroom. Being pregnant aint half bad really ;-)

Thanks a lot Asad :-)

Do you think September is a good month then Jarvenpa? It’ll be good I think because it won’t be very hot and also my child will be born in the same month as you which will be a great honour :-) I must say raspberry leaf tea does not sound very appetizing!

No... I don't believe it!!! What took him so long, may I ask?! :-) Congratulation to both of you!!! This is such an exciting news. Are you going to find out or you are waiting? I'm having a hard time imagining you two in 16-17 years dealing with a teenager.... Hmmmm... I will pay money to see that!!!

Congrats! You know that we are related and we all probably have the same sense of humor, so I hope you won’t get offended if I ask who’s the father? Okay! Don’t role your eyes! I was just kidding. I see everyone is giving you advice! What about poor Kamyar? Lots of cold showers for him and it’s good that he’s doing all the chores. He needs to keep busy and he needs a new hobby. For starters, I recommend something like sudoku puzzles and please break the news to him gently. No more sex till September!!! Well, almost none.

Shirin,
Do you have "What to Expect When You Are Expecting" yet? I think you'll find that Bijan's is not the official policy.
His comment reminds of something I read once, that when your friends find out you're pregnant, the women think about the baby, and the men think about how you got that way.

What took him so long to do what Shahin?
Yes I think we are going to find out. And about his/her teenage years, didn’t Kamyar tell you? We’re going to send him/her to Detroit to stay with Uncle Shahin. So you better start thinking about teenage-proofing your house dear.

Hello Mooshmand jaan :-)

Thanks Foulla :-)

Is that really our family’s kind of sense of humour Bijan? Oh dear :-| But what do you mean ‘no sex till September’? Whoever told you that was probably pulling your leg. From what I’ve heard and know, it all gets even better.

No I don’t have that Atmikha. That’s funny about men thinking how you got that way. Isn’t that because most of them don’t actually know exactly how babies are made ;-)

Thanks Shady :-)
