I’ve made myself a Farsi blog as well now if anyone is interested to know what I sound like in Farsi :-)

Shouldn't it be "Persian Blog"?
I think when we speak in English it is "Persian" and when we speak in "Persian" it is Farsi!
I am alergic to this and I cannot help myself not to leave a comment when I see the word "Farsi" in English Text!
But any way, congrats on your new blog! Hopefully it wont keep you away from English Blogging! With tons of Persian bloggers, Blogspace needs more Iranian English writers.

I read in you blog about your fried and his death. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless his soul.

It really was a surprise - thank you very much for your long comment. I think we both made our points. In addition to that you realized not only I have some sort of syntactical allergy, I am culturally challenged (politically correct phrase for “being @$$#01e”) enough to eliminate whoever disagrees with me. :-)

You can find endless number of samples and articles supporting “farsi” versus “Persian” and vice versa. But in my case, I simply see a chain: Persian culture, Persian Empire, Persian Gulf, Persian Rugs, Persian language, Persian cat, Persian literacy, Persian Poems etc. and I think using the word “farsi” somehow disconnects one element of this chain from the rest. “farsi” itself is not even an authentic Persian word; the original word is “Parsi” and “farsi” is Arabic pronunciation of it (because Arabic doesn’t have the letter “P”). Isn’t “Persian” closer to “Parsi” than “farsi”?
That's why any where I see a misplaced/misspelled word, I leave a comment: Nowruz not norooz, Persian not farsi, Iranian not Persian etc.
One more good news: Windows Vista which will be released early 2007 supports "Persian" not "farsi". Hopefully others will follow!
